A Weekend of Community, Music and Heartfelt Goodbyes at Barefoot Festival (24th - 26th July)

Some weekends leave a lasting impression for many different reasons... and our time at Barefoot Festival will certainly be one we'll never forget.

We arrived on late Thursday afternoon, ready to set up the Plentuspire and Fresh Canvas stall and settle into what promised to be a wonderful weekend. As the evening unfolded, it was lovely to soak up the relaxed atmosphere, reconnect with familiar faces and enjoy watching the festival slowly come to life.

Friday morning brought a sense of anticipation as we watched everything coming together before the festival officially opened at 2pm. Seeing the site transform as visitors arrived was a special moment and before long the festival was filled with laughter, music and a wonderful community spirit.

Throughout the day, we had the pleasure of meeting so many beautiful people. There were meaningful conversations, familiar faces, new connections and plenty of opportunities to share our aromatherapy products, crystal gifts, bath rituals, wellbeing treasures, drums and clothes with visitors. As the trading day came to a close, we closed the gazebo for the evening and spent some time enjoying the live music, taking in the unique atmosphere that makes Barefoot Festival such a special place. 

Saturday greeted us with some strong winds, so we made a few adjustments to our display to keep everything safe and secure. Once everything was in place, it wasn't long before we were once again welcoming visitors to the stall. The day brought even more wonderful conversations, friendly faces and a chance to connect with so many kind and inspiring people.

Sadly, our weekend came to an unexpected end on late Saturday afternoon. We received the heartbreaking news that our beautiful dog had passed away, so we rushed to pack everything and made the journey home to be with our family. 

Although we arrived too late to see him before he had been taken away, we were able to say our final goodbyes on Monday. It brings us comfort to know that he was surrounded by our children and family when he crossed the rainbow bridge, but losing such a special member of our family has left an enormous space in our hearts.

Life has a way of reminding us what truly matters. This weekend brought moments of joy, kindness, music, community and connection, but also one of the hardest goodbyes we have ever had to face.

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who visited the Plentuspire stall, stopped for a chat or supported our small business throughout the festival. We apologise to those who said they will pop arround to see us again after some activities. 

We'd also like to thank the organisers and all the wonderful volunteers whose hard work creates such a unique and welcoming event each year. Barefoot Festival is about so much more than shopping - it's about community, connection and bringing people together and we're grateful to have been part of it, even though our weekend ended sooner than expected.
